             CNC Upgrades

With our emphasis on controls technology, servo systems and manufacturing, SWE Engineering has all the tools to turn your old N/C or manual machining center into a full blown CNC machine. Below are images of an older NC machine before and after being upgraded with a Centroid CNC retrofit.

Why Retrofit?

Existing Machine capability not found on a new machine.
Machine parts not possible with old control.
Reduce the time it takes to make most parts, sometimes by a factor of 8 or more.
Continuous machining, No hesitation, Smoother machine action, Faster rapids, Faster feedrates.
Easier programming, More programming features, such as cutter wear compensation.
PC based system - easy to update.
Add new CNC features not available with old control such as Digitizing, Engraving, 4th axis and Probing.
Upgrade a 2 1/2 axis machine to a True 3 or 4 axis CNC.
Virtually No program memory limit.
Many old NC machines have excellent mechanics, using large made ball screws and quality support bearings. These old machines are rigid and heavy duty. The problem is the old electronics are failing and parts can be impossible to find.
Old controls are limited in their capabilities and NOT user friendly.

Examples of typical CNC Retrofit Kits:

Before
Centroid M-39 CNC Kit

Before
MC-In-A-Box CNC Kit
