CT Tune

CT Tune is a servo testing and tuning application for graphing position, speed, current and other parameters for tuning Control Techniques drives. This program gives you not only an interface for setting the tuning parameters for your servo system, it also gives you the ability to graph the servo system data from the last program execution. Data is gathered in the UD70/MD29 module at run time in the speed task, and graphed in CT Tune so that you can make an informed decision on how to adjust the drive tuning. While tuning the system, you can independently select programmed position, actual position, programmed speed, actual speed, current, or position error to be graphed.

The DPL code included with CT Tune allows you to download motion profiles through CTNet or over the RS485/RS232 serial interfaces which can be set to emulate a Delta Tau MCC card. The included DPL code not only has a CAM function like the one in the CT Drive, but does it one better by interpolating between programmed points using a constant acceleration from point to point. (unlike the built in function which uses a constant speed, and thus causes a step change in speed at each point. Because of this feature, this new DPL code can implement a new feature called acceleration feed forward. This function dramatically improves the positional accuracy of the system, by watching the changes in acceleration, and "anticipating" the next move before there is actually a significant position error.

This is just an example of the kind of solution we provide. If you're looking for this type of application, or you need a custom Servo application to solve a specific problem, then contact us at info@swe-eng.com We'll be glad to help.
