CAD Database

The CAD Database is a document management system for CAD drawings. CAD DB has functions such as Create New Drawing, Edit Drawing, Release Drawing, Plot Drawing, and Plot Multiple Drawings. It has the ability to automatically archive drawings, and retrieve them when necessary. Controls are built into the system to determine the user's authorization to access unreleased drawings and plot batches of drawings.

This application is based on one of a number of standard, open databases. This allows the user to do custom queries and reports on the CAD documents handled by CAD DB. The CAD DB is a seperate application, not an AutoCAD AutoLisp routine or a script. In fact, CAD DB will work with many different CAD systems. However, integration with AutoCAD, DesignCAD, and others is a strong point of this system. Interfaces are built in to support creation of Bills of Material, and ECN, DrawnBy, and Title Blocks in your own format. This is highly customizable.

Drawings can be archived and retrieved automatically to any device including network drives and jukeboxes. Plotting of drawings can be setup on a server so that only one copy of your CAD software is necessary. (You don't need to buy a copy of AutoCAD for every user.) The server software can allow users to handle CAD DB functions with full security.

The CAD Database is a highly customized product, because of the level of integration into your existing CAD system. The base product is available as part of a custom integration.
